Li'l Chubby’s, a new restaurant in Pineville, Louisiana, will open its doors in the near future. So, I wanted to design a unique poster to mark the occasion. This illustration is reminiscent of styles from mid-20th century Americana and 1960s comics such as Archie while maintaining a fresh feel.
I started with digital sketches in Photoshop and Procreate to create the illustration. These tools allowed me to experiment with my initial ideas and draft the character that would serve as the centerpiece of the design. After sketching, I moved to Illustrator for vectorization and added grit and aging for a vintage look. The bright color scheme demands attention and conveys the joy and excitement of the soon-to-be local establishment.
I can hardly wait to see what Li'l Chubby’s will bring to our community, and I look forward to being one of the first customers.
